Making a difference at Lincoln Middle SchoolFor Immediate Release (1/23/2007) Biddeford, Maine, 1/23/2007 - Touch Tanks for Kids, a non-profit organization, will be donating ocean life to Lincoln Middle School of Portland, Maine touch tank on Friday 26th at 11:00 AM. A touch tank is an interactive learning tool used to harbor cold water ocean species in a natural setting. “Only one in three students has a proficient understanding of science. Our future depends on upon finding a better way of delivering education. Interactive learning provides a more exciting way for students to study and our hopes are that this excitement will ignite a collaborated community effort to advance educational, environmental and economic progress.” Mike Martin, the executive director of Touch Tanks for Kids. Mike Martin will be presenting an assortment of sea life to Regina Morton, science teacher at Lincoln Middle School, who has a touch tank in her classroom. Touch Tanks for Kids a public supported non-profit organization. Our goal is to increase environmental awareness through interactive, hands on, education and to enlighten young minds to eco friendly economic development.
