February is the Month of Interactive Education

For Immediate Release (2/1/2007)

Biddeford, Maine, 2/1/2007 - Touch Tanks for Kids, a non-profit organization that provides interactive learning tools to schools, is continuing its expansion into museums and learning centers across the United States. Four touch tanks are being delivered in February to well known science centers in Alaska, Arizona, and Florida with more planned to be placed in 2007. A touch tank is a large interactive learning tool used to harbor ocean species in a natural setting.

“It is critical to create a better appreciation of marine ecology. The lesson learned about ocean life  at the Arizona Science Center are likely to reach and open young minds who otherwise may only learn about sea life from words and a picture,” says Mike Martin, executive director of Touch Tanks for Kids.

Other recipients for February deliveries of touch tanks include the Tampa Bay Watch, a non-profit dedicated to educating children about local ecology, and the Douglas Island Pacific Salmon and Chum, an Alaskan Salmon hatchery and education center.

Touch Tanks for Kids a public supported non-profit organization. Our goal is to increase environmental awareness through interactive, hands on, education and to enlighten young minds to eco friendly economic development.
